It took me a long time to finally catch up on this one, but I’m so glad I did, as the story about a forensic crime investigator turned vigilante serial killer who only kills bad people is totally easy to watch, despite being so gruesome.

ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA (2018)

This ripped-from-the-headlines series based on the true story of two prisoners’ escape from a maximum security prison has no business being this good. It really shows deft skill from series director Ben Stiller to raise it from pulpy melodrama, and particular credit must go to Paul Dano, Benicio del Toro and Patricia Arquette for their cliché-avoiding textured performances.
