Band of Brothers is an essential viewing experience. It is the best war series ever made and HBO replays it every year on Memorial Day and every year, without fail, I get sucked in again–it is that good, that re-watchable and that important. Based on the true story of Easy Company, an American Army platoon that saw some of the most brutal fighting of World War II, Band of Brothers portrays characters who would rightfully come to define the Greatest Generation. Besides being important to watch, the production values and acting across the board is excellent, and the storytelling is compelling, to say the least. If you like war stories, it doesn’t get better than this.
